Kyle Busch Wins NASCAR Camping World RV Service 300 Presented By Coleman At Auto Club Speedway
31/08/2008
Race Results After finishing second at Auto Club Speedway last February, to teammate Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch won the NASCAR Camping World RV Service 300 Presented by Coleman under caution in the final lap of the race. Busch dominated the field, leading 144 laps in the race. Busch broke the previous record of 141 set by Dale Earnhardt Jr.; the race as a total had just six different leaders - a low for the Labor Day Nationwide race at Auto Club Speedway. Busch also made history at Auto Club Speedway, becoming the first driver to win the race from the pole position in either a Nationwide or Sprint Cup event. "The car was flawless," said Busch, who won his series-leading seventh NNS race Saturday. “These guys got a bad wrap a few weeks ago for what happened, but they don't deserve it. They deserve all the credit they can get. I don’t care about my bad wrap, but these guys here, they deserve everything. This one means a lot.” Carl Edwards, who finished second, posted his sixth top-10 finish in eight races at Auto Club Speedway as well as his 14th top-10 finish in 2008. “Those guys (Busch’s team) were spectacular,” Edwards said. “That car was unreal. I was real proud of my guys. It’s a great points night for us. I just wish we could have gotten up there and raced him a little bit and made it a better event for everybody.” NNS Points Leader Clint Bowyer finished seventh and currently remains in first place over Brad Keselowski by 204 points. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Pepsi 500 at Auto Club Speedway will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday and will finish “under the lights.” Ticket information is available by calling (800) 944-RACE (7223) or for more information, visit at www.autoclubspeedway.com.
